Let the dead bury their own dead.
In Matthew 8:22, Jesus tells a would-be follower to "let the dead bury their own dead". Who knows? Does this mean that anyone who does not follow Jesus is dead and so other people who are not followers could bury the would-be follower's father and so then the dead would be burying the dead? It's quite obvious that to Jesus it was (is) far more important to follow His lead and be lead into everlasting life but is there another meaning behind this statement? Who knows?
